More about the dog food suit
So the black firefighter who cried racism, sued Los Angeles, and settled for millions after being fed dog food is now seeing that settlement undone. Why? The biggest reason is surely the newly revealed pictures of the plaintiff, Tennie Pierce, participating in pranks of his own, many of which appear to be far worse than taking a couple of bites of dog food. (What the hell is going on in that last pic?) Protests, stirred up by talk radio, surely did not help — city councilmen started receiving cans of dog food, or were pelted with kibble as they left the office. Pretty soon the city council started having second thoughts.
It’s disturbing to see how this story has stirred up racial tensions in the city, especially in the firehouses. From my distant vantage point, it sure seems like this story has nothing to do with race. Instead, it’s about a guy who (a) can dish it out but can’t take it, and (b) is more than willing to cry victim if he thinks it’ll lead to a juicy settlement.
Worse still, you just know we’re days away from Jesse Jackson poking his nose into this.
