My friend Ken, who has very good eyesight, informs me that my recent Sunday Times puzzle appears in the latest Levenger catalog. This entitles me to a free leather clipboard, don’t you think?
Update: As several people have pointed out, Ken’s good eyesight is really not pertinent when Levenger offers a perfectly good zoom button.

Actually, you can use the little Java applet to zoom way in. The type is quite legible. (Not that Ken doesn’t necessarily have very good eyesight, mind you.)
And it wouldn’t hurt to ask the fine folks at Levenger’s. Show ‘em the photo of you from the CT xword tourney and convince ‘em it’ll be great publicity for their product at next year’s ACPT! Worst they can do is say “no.”
Indeed. For what it’s worth, I do have very good eyesight, but I also used the applet to confirm (I thought I mentioned it in my email, but I guess not).
You should definitely contact Levenger and ask. Except you should probably ask for “two leather clipboards, one for me and one for the guy who noticed in the first place”
Very cool. I still have an advertisement for “The Crossword Caddy” that featured a puzzle of mine in the photo.
I can’t personally confirm the degree of rigor with which our photographers hunted for this puzzle. However, this series of comments certainly confirms their talent in finding a carefully cut gem.

..Unfortunatley, I can’t say we offer any sort of scouting incentive. Further, I can’t help but think an Ibis Magnifying glass might seem more appropriate. Nonetheless, we frequently build custom Circa notebook samples in the retail stores. Perhaps we could build one for you and mail it out with a circafied Fresnel lens inside.
Thanks,
Ryan

[...] Two days ago, I mentioned that a friend noticed a puzzle of mine in the latest Levenger catalog, clipped to an ultrafancy clipboard. I joked that because it was my crossword that was grabbed totally at random to be part of the picture, I was now entitled to fancy Levenger clipboard of my own. [...]
