- I’m actually not sure if this is a billboard or a simply a picture of a billboard, used as an advertisement in a magazine. Because, if it’s an honest-to-goodness billboard somewhere… well, the sky is not always that precise color of blue, is it? But anyway, I like the basic idea.
- I think the cleverness of this one outweighs the make-me-wince sexism of the whole thing, but then again, I’m a guy. Your mileage may vary. And yes, apparently they really hung this on an actual girls’ dorm, in Korea. I can definitely understand if the girls therein are a bit, um, nonplussed about it.
It looks like that first one really was a billboard, and that the effect was achieved by cutting out strips in the board itself to create an illusion. Brilliant!
Ohhhhh. Okay, that’s even more awesome than I thought.
But what about the roller? Won’t a blue roller look odd on a grey day?
Now, honey, you can ask anyone and they’ll assure you that I’m not generally a heavy-duty wincer when it comes to such things, but I have to tell you: that second billboard has me wincing pretty damn hard. Just so you know.
The first one is amazing (I’d like to see how they structurally accomplished the “unpainted” points).
The second is indeed wince-inducing, but also rather trite, IMO. Underneath the wrinkles, though, I’m still a girl. YMMV
